Canton is officially known as the Charter Township of Canton, located in Wayne County in Southeastern Michigan. As of 2010, the township had a population of about 90,000+. But that number is supposed to be higher after the conclusion of the 2020 Census. After Clinton Township, Canton is Michigan’s most populated township and the eleventh most-populated municipality overall, according to Wikipedia. It’s interesting to note that the township of Canton is ranked as the 96th highest-income place is the United States , and is also considered as one of the safest cities not only in Michigan, but the whole nation.

A fun fact about the Township of Canton, it was created by act of the Michigan Territorial Legislature on March 7th, 1834 out of the southern portion of Plymouth Township.
